So, you may have heard me say this before. But THIS time I mean it. I think I have found my most favorite service yet. It made me nervous. It made my heart rate reach fat burning peak (which I’m not complaining). It made me second guess myself. It made me question whether or not I was cut out for this. What is it & How does it work?

SkinPen is a micro-needling cartridge that is designed to stimulate your skin’s collagen and elastin production. The micro-needle penetrates tiny channels into the skin to promote your own natural growth factors. Some are referring to this idea as “going green” in terms of collagen production due to the fact that SkinPen does not use chemicals, lasers, or heat & sweat to fill in fine lines, wrinkles, acne scaring, or generate overall health for the appearance of your skin.
What to Expect:
Prior to the procedure, the esthetician will use a small amount of lidocaine to numb your skin. After the numbing agent has set in, the overall procedure takes approximately 30 minutes. Short and sweet. The procedure itself was what I was most nervous about! I am a baby when it comes to pain, but with the numbing agent and the support of the esthetician, I was able to follow-through with this amazing service and see immediate benefits.
The recovery period was an absolute BREEZE. As expected, my face was red after it was all said and done. I used the recovery serums provided with the service itself. After day 3, the redness had faded and my skin looked AMAZING! I have very minimal acne scaring, but I saw a difference after just 1 round! I have actually had 5 people (but whose counting) on 5 different occasions tell me “I am aging well.” I don’t know about you, but that’s something I could get used to hearing 😉
Overall, I faced a fear of something I thought was going to be super painful and was blown away by the results. I walked away with stronger skin and I am looking forward to my next 2 rounds of SkinPen!
