The Science Behind Medical Grade Facials

Every day, your skin is growing older and being damaged by exposure to the sun, weather and harmful pollutants. Medical grade facials go beyond pampering your skin to provide short-term surface beauty. Rather they rejuvenate and replenish troubled skin with long-lasting treatments. Medical grade facial therapy goes to work in the deepest layers of your skin, where collagen, elastin, and new cells are produced.

We offer three components to our medical grade facial:

Ultrasonic Treatment

High-level sound waves penetrate deep below the surface of the skin. This treatment tones muscles, increases blood circulation, encourages cellular renewal, promotes lymphatic drainage, fights swelling and puffiness, and improves penetration of skin care products. It will tighten sagging skin and enlarged pores, smooth out and plump up wrinkles and fine lines, take care of puffy eyes and dark under-eye circles, reduce the appearance of cellulite, improve acne, fade age spots and freckles, and help repair scar damage. It can even help sensitive skin conditions such as rosacea.

Extractions

Trying to extract your blackheads, whiteheads, or small pimples by yourself in the bathroom mirror can do more harm than good. A medical facial involves loosening your clogged pores first with steam and enzymatic masks so that blemishes can be safely extracted. It will also help acne sufferers by getting rid of existing active acne lesions and preventing future outbreaks.

Galvanic Hydration Therapy

This treatment is based on a scientific process called iontophoresis that conveys electrically charged particles (ions) deep into the skin utilizing gels that are positively or negatively charged. This enables key skin-improving ingredients to be transported into those deeper skin layers, resulting in improved hydration, circulation, and cleansing.

Your skin is more complicated than it appears. It’s okay to get a one-time relaxing facial on vacation at a resort spa, but for ongoing, effective care you need a local esthetician who can get to know your skin over time. Medical grade facial treatments are highly effective, but they are also potent and highly concentrated. Therefore, you need a highly trained professional that can treat your skin appropriately to achieve the best possible results.
